Based in Ashmore on the Gold Coast, our workshop combines over 20 years of hands-on experience in custom metal fabrication, MIG and TIG welding, repairs, and maintenance.

We specialise in both aluminium and steel fabrication, serving industries ranging from automotive and marine to construction and manufacturing. Every job — big or small — is completed with the same attention to detail, craftsmanship, and customer focus that has built our strong reputation.
Optimal Fabrication is a proud family-owned business, founded and operated by John and Paula Potts, who together bring 37 years of combined military service in the Army and Air Force, followed by over two decades of developing successful small family businesses.

Their son, Robert Potts, is the company’s Primary Fabricator, bringing more than 20 years of hands-on industry experience, including 18 years in the aluminium boat-building industry. His technical expertise, precision, and pride in workmanship form the cornerstone of Optimal Fabrication’s reputation for quality and reliability.
